1953 BENDIX Aviation 6106 Vacuum Tubes Date Matched Pair 3 Mica Ruggedized 5Y3GT

This pair of Bendix 6106 tubes test strong and close at:

56-55/40

56-54/40

on my TV-7D tester (calibrated 1/27/24). Brand new tubes should test 62-62/40 or higher. Tested for shorts, emission and noise.

Date codes are both the same week in July of 1953. These have signs of use like scratching/marking on the bases. These are a ruggedized equivalent of 5Y3GT tubes. They were designed for heavy duty applications and have extra thick glass, 3 micas and internal support rods. They have top D getters. They’re claimed to have incredibly long service lives too. One of the reasons people love these in guitar and hifi amps.
